BINGO CARD CHALLENGE!
Try to make a Reading BINGO this summer by getting five in a row! Use whichever BINGO card you'd like below, although the Early Childhood card might be more suitable for younger readers. Write the names of the book you read in the square and be sure to bring it in to Mrs. Ferguson in the fall to show her what you have read. Ebooks and audiobooks count too! Or email a photo of your student with their boards to kferguson@blessedsacrament.org! Check out the links below assist you in selecting books to fit the categories. I bet some of you can make more than one BINGO! Have fun! This challenge is optional.

E-books (or electronic books) are books you can read digitally, either on a computer, Kindle/Nook, iPad, Chromebook, etc. Audiobooks are books you can listen to, either on CD or as a download to your device. The narration on audiobooks is usually outstanding and is a great way to pass the time in the car or on a walk. You can borrow ebooks and audiobooks from your public library for free! You can borrow books on tape/CD from your public library, or borrow Playaways which you simply plug in your own headphones or earbuds and listen to the story. Apps such as Overdrive and Libby can be linked to your library card, and you can browse your library’s collection of ebooks and audiobooks. Here is a Link to the Walpole Public Library Website.
The BSS catalog also offers some ebooks. Students need to log in to the BSS Library Catalog (login information can be found here).

GRAPHIC NOVELS - Graphic Novels are stories told through the use of images similar to a comic book. Graphic novels can be fiction or nonfiction. Many on my list are series, so be sure to check those out as well!
CLASSIC BOOKS - Classics are well known and stand the test of time. The characters are likable and children can relate to them. They are books that children enjoy hearing and parents enjoy reading them. Themes are generally about love, fear, acceptance, anger, and family--all part of the human experience. Some of them our grandparents read as children, and others are more recent, but they are books that can be read again and again.
