Week of February 3 - February 7, 2020

This week was the Park Street Book Fair! It is so much fun seeing the joy on our students' faces when they find a book they love, and know that it is theirs to keep!  The fair was a big success, and I can't wait to use the credit we earned to purchase books! Thank you to Karen Antonetti and Alexis Landry for their help. And congratulations to the Jesensky family for winning the raffle for the Park Street Books gift certificate!

TEACHER BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

I polled teachers to ask them what children's books they love and would like to recommend to our students.  I made a bulletin board with all the choices and also pulled some of the books to make the books easy for our students to find.  They are causing a buzz with the students so far!

2ND GRADERS BEGINNING CALDECOTT PROJECT

2nd graders are choosing their books to report on for the annual Caldecott book project.  I try to get them excited about the project by reading great books of the year so we can predict which might win.  The books they are choosing from are the recipients over the years of either the Caldecott Medal or Caldecott Honor Award.  So many great books to choose from!
